Welcome to Alameda Little League! California District 4

Alameda Little League uses the Louisville Slugger Blue Flame Pitching Machine (UPM45) for the Single A division. The Blue Flame pitching machine consistently delivers a hittable pitch to the batter and is easily adjusted.

OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

The machine has three settings as shown in the diagram:
Micro Adjust: A - 3
Release Arm: B -4
Power Pedal: C - 4

As a league, we have found the settings of A:3, B:4 and C:4 with the leading edge of the machine 40 feet from the front of home plate delivers a hittable pitch that will reach the catcher on a fly. The machine will be fully assembled and configured with these settings. During the course of the game, the operator will only need to use the Micro Adjusment to dial in the machine to make game time adjustments.

Delivering a Pitch
-Lock the Throwing Arm under the Release Arm Block.
-Before placing  the baseball on the throwing arm, make sure all players are clear of the throwing arm.
-Place the baseball on the Throwing Arm.
-Hold the Release Arm with one hand while fully depressing the Power Pedal with your foot. Press all the way down until the pedal
makes contact with the base of the machine.
-Gently pull back the Release Arm to pitch the ball.
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOUR FOOT IS HOLDING DOWN THE POWER PEDAL UNTIL THE THROWING ARM HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED MOVING.

See the video below on how to use the machine.
